PART 5: The Final Resolution

The months that followed were challenging, but the home Daniel had built with his own hands made my recovery smoother than any doctor had anticipated.

With the physical therapy station right in our living room and Daniel by my side every evening after work, I made steady progress. Eight months after the surgery, I took my first unassisted steps across the newly renovated living room floor.

We eventually moved our classic furniture back in, blending the comforts of our past twenty years with the accessible home we needed for the future.

I learned that love doesn’t always look like sitting by a hospital bed holding hands. Sometimes, love is the man who works silently in the dark to make sure that when you finally walk home, the path ahead is completely clear.
