PART 2: The Speech

The entire auditorium grew dead silent as Lily adjusted the microphone. Clarissa stood near the front row, her arms crossed, a smug smile on her face as if she expected a grand public tribute to her sudden return.

“Most people think being born blind means living in darkness,” Lily’s voice resonated through the speakers, steady and clear. “But my sisters and I never felt dark inside our home. We had a father who worked double shifts, learned how to braid our hair by memory, and never let us feel like we were missing a thing.”

She took a slow breath, turning her head slightly toward the VIP section where Clarissa was standing.

“Eighteen years ago, a woman decided that three blind babies were too much of a burden for her luxury lifestyle,” Lily continued. “She walked out, claiming our father couldn’t give her anything. But today, she returned, offering us her money and blaming our dad for her decision.”

Clarissa’s smug expression instantly melted into a rigid, uncomfortable glare as whispers began circulating through the crowd.

What secret did Lily reveal next? Continue reading Part 3 below for the shocking confession.
