Gabriel stared at his mother in utter horror, the voice recording shattering every illusion he had ever harbored about her intentions.

“You destroyed her grandmother’s lace?” Gabriel’s voice trembled with absolute rage, a tone his mother had never heard from him before. “You came into her room and tried to force her into submission three hours before our wedding?”

Diane’s frantic facade cracked, turning into sharp fury as she realized she was losing control. “She isn’t one of us, Gabriel!” she hissed, discarding all pretenses. “She’s a nobody from a common family! If you don’t force her to sign the prenup and wear our name, you are disowned from the estate!”

Lauren backed away toward the wall, terrified by the anger radiating from her brother as the venue manager quietly noted every word for security records.

Gabriel looked down at the shredded dress, then at me—the woman who had stood tall, silent, and dignified through their relentless cruelty.
