PART 2: THE GRADUATION SURPRISE
Nadia, the eldest by two minutes, stepped up to the center podium while her sisters stood closely by her side.
A heavy silence fell across the university auditorium as the crowd shifted in their seats, waiting to see what was happening.
I gripped my camera tighter, my heart pounding in my chest, assuming they had prepared a special speech for their late mother.
“Twenty-two years ago, our biological father made a choice to walk away from us on a cold porch,” Nadia’s voice echoed through the speakers.
“He thought we were too much to handle, but another man didn’t hesitate to step into that dark room and carry us forward.”
Camille stepped forward next, pulling a velvet-covered box and a thick folder of official documents out from under her graduation gown.
