PART 5: The Final Resolution
Instead of stepping out into the light, I silently backed out through the side pedestrian door, slipping into the backyard shadows before dialing federal authorities.
Two hours later, local police and federal art-crime agents surrounded the property, catching Brian red-handed while he was packing the stolen masterpieces into his vehicle.
He stood handcuffed in our driveway, his jaw dropping in absolute shock as I walked past the police cruisers, staring directly into his eyes without a cane, a driver, or any hesitation.
“You can see?” Brian stammered, his face draining of every drop of color as the reality of his downfall hit him.
“I see everything now, Brian,” I replied calmly, watching the officers load the evidence into their vans. “And I’m finally looking at a future without you.”
