Gabriella gasped, her hands flying to her face as the realization hit her why I had spent weeks in the hospital under the guise of ‘work trips.’
The auditorium erupted in collective gasps as Clarissa shrank back into her seat, completely humiliated by her own superficial arrogance.
“Our father gave up his health, his youth, and his own physical comfort so we would never feel less than whole,” Lily announced proudly.
“He didn’t need designer clothes or diamonds to be the greatest parent on earth.”
