THE SACRIFICE OF NOAH

PART 4: THE ULTIMATE GIFT

June held up a sleek blue folder containing official court documents that they had secretly finalized weeks prior to the ceremony.

“We don’t just want to thank our uncle today,” June announced, smiling through her tears as security ushered me toward the front of the stage. “We want to give him something that should have been his two decades ago.”

As I stepped onto the wooden steps, all three girls rushed toward me, wrapping their arms around my shoulders in a tight, overwhelming embrace.

Ava handed me the legal paper—it was a formal petition for adult adoption, officially changing their last names to match mine.

“You were never just Uncle Noah,” Claire whispered into my ear. “You’ve been our Dad from the very first day.”

Surrounded by the three strong, educated women I had dedicated my entire life to raising, I finally wept, knowing that every sacrifice, late night, and lonely moment had led to the richest love a father could ever know.
