PART 3: THE UNMASKING AT WILLOWMERE
The front door unlocked, and Grant stepped into the apartment carrying a bag of takeout, completely unaware that his dark secret had been laid bare.
He froze when he saw the folder spread across the table, his face draining of all color as Audrey held up the bank transfer statements.
“Audrey… I can explain,” Grant stammered, taking a hesitant step backward toward the doorway. “My mother suggested it to secure our future…”
“You lied to me every single day,” Audrey said, her voice dropping to a icy, steady pitch. “You let your mother humiliate me, degrade me, and treat me like a servant while you robbed me blind.”
Before Grant could utter another excuse, Lenora pushed her way into the apartment, ready to demand why Audrey hadn’t prepared dinner.
Audrey didn’t flinch. She picked up her phone and dialed the Westbridge Police Department, placing the call on speakerphone for both of them to hear.
