PART 2: The Muddy Leash

PART 5: The Final Resolution

The house was completely silent after Diane drove away. Kenny came over to where I was sitting on the living room rug beside Frankie, wrapping his arms around both of us as heavy tears of relief finally spilled down my face.

We changed our front door locks the very next afternoon, ensuring that our boundary was permanently set.

Diane tried sending long, manipulative text messages over the following weeks, blaming me for “turning her son against her.” But Kenny handled every message himself, maintaining a strict non-contact boundary until she could offer a genuine apology and show real accountability.

Frankie lived out his remaining years in complete peace, resting comfortably on his favorite bed right by the fireplace, surrounded only by the people who truly loved and protected him.
