Part 2: What the Green Dot Signifies

The green dot in your phone’s status bar is a real-time privacy indicator introduced in Android 12 (and iOS 14).

When this indicator lights up, it signals that an active application is currently accessing your device’s camera, microphone, or both. Whether you are recording a voice note, making a video call, or taking a photo, the system illuminates this dot to give you immediate visual feedback on hardware usage.
