Ben explained how Rosie had approached him years ago with a secret wish to experience every milestone of a full, beautiful life.
“She asked me to marry her not out of a traditional romance, but because she trusted me to give her a lifetime of joy in a short amount of time,” Ben shared softly.
“I loved her with all my heart—as my best friend, my protector, and my soulmate in every way that mattered.”
He held my shaking hands, explaining how every smile, every anniversary, and every memory had been crafted with total devotion.
Suddenly, the double doors of the surgical suite burst open, and a doctor ran toward us with a look of extreme urgency.
“We need the family immediately!” the physician called out, his face pale under the bright hallway lights.
