PART 3: THE SECRET PATERNITY
The corridor fell into an astounding, heavy silence as Damon stared at the paper in total, unadulterated horror.
“No… no, that can’t be right,” Damon whispered, his voice cracking as he spun around to face Tessa. “I have a son! Tessa gave me a son!”
Tessa began to cry, shaking her head silently as she refused to meet Damon’s frantic, desperate gaze.
Marcus raised a single sheet of paper, holding it up where the bright overhead fluorescent lights illuminated the official paternity header.
“When Elise requested a full review of the tampered records, we were legally required to cross-reference all associated clinic samples,” Marcus explained.
“This child is not biologically yours, Damon. The clinic records show Tessa utilized an anonymous donor account two months before your divorce was finalized.”
Damon staggered backward as if he had been physically struck, his hands trembling as his entire world shattered in a single instant.
The woman he had ruined my life for had lied to him from the very beginning, using his own arrogance and desperation to secure his fortune.
