PART 3: THE TABLE TURNS
The first officer nervously fumbled with his key ring, trying to unlock the handcuffs while frantically apologizing for his “misunderstanding.”
“Agent Sterling, please! We thought you were someone else… we were just trying to maintain order,” he pleaded, his forehead slick with sweat.
“Save your explanations for the tribunal,” Victoria replied firmly, holding her wrists steady as the cuffs finally clicked open.
Before either officer could say another word, three unmarked black SUVs pulled up onto the shoulder, blocking the patrol car from front and back.
A dozen armed federal agents stepped out, led by the Regional Chief of Internal Affairs, who marched straight toward the paralyzed officers.
“Officers Vance and Miller, you are under immediate arrest for civil rights violations, assault under color of authority, and extortion,” the Chief declared loudly.
The second officer tried to drop to his knees, begging for a second chance, but the federal team swept in and placed real, heavy cuffs around both men’s wrists.
