Alejandro’s sister Paola gripped the door handle in disbelief, her phone slipping from her fingers onto the leather seat.
“This can’t be her house,” Doña Victoria gasped, her voice lacking its usual sharp authority. “She must be renting it for the afternoon to embarrass us.”
Julián, my head butler, greeted them at the front entrance, directing the stunned family toward the glass pavilion set for an extravagant feast.
