PART 3: THE CHILD’S TESTIMONY
Little Idan broke free from the frantic nanny pursuing him, running down the center aisle with tears streaming down his flushed cheeks.
“Stop! She didn’t do it!” the young boy shouted, his small voice echoing off the high stone walls and silencing the entire gallery.
Margaret gasped, standing up instantly to order the nanny to grab the boy, but Adam held out an arm, stopping his mother in her tracks.
Idan reached the witness stand, pulling a heavy, velvet-wrapped object from his small jacket pocket and setting it directly onto the railing.
Unwrapping the cloth revealed the missing heirloom jewel, sparkling brilliantly under the harsh fluorescent lights of the courtroom.
“Grandma hid it in the safe behind the painting,” Idan sobbed, pointing a trembling finger straight at Margaret. “I saw her hide it because she wanted Clara to go away forever!”
The courtroom erupted into total chaos as reporters gasped, cameras flashed, and Margaret’s face drained of every drop of color.
