THE FLEA MARKET SECRET

PART 4: HOME AT LAST

The officer gently stepped between us, placing a steadying hand on my shoulder as Rick collapsed onto the hallway bench in tears.

“She’s at the station right now, Mrs. Rhodes,” the officer said, his eyes shining with warmth. “Her memory began returning last week, and she gave us your name.”

I didn’t wait another second. I ran past my broken husband, ignoring his desperate pleas for forgiveness, and got straight into the police cruiser.

When the doors to the station room opened, a twenty-one-year-old woman stood up from the table, her eyes welling with familiar tears.

Despite the lost decade, I recognized the gentle curve of her smile instantly.

“Mom?” she whispered, her voice carrying the exact same warmth from eleven years ago.

I threw my arms around my daughter, holding her close as the painful burden of ten years of grief dissolved into complete, overwhelming joy.

Rick faced full legal accountability for his deception, but in that quiet room, surrounded by love and restored truth, Hannah and I finally began our long-awaited journey home together.
