PART 3: THE LEGAL RECKONING
Before Liam could attempt another weak excuse, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed from the penthouse elevator lobby.
Two uniformed police officers stepped into the foyer, accompanied by my lead divorce counsel, Victoria Sterling.
“Mr. Liam Vance,” Victoria announced calmly, presenting a folded document. “You are being served with an emergency restraining order and an asset-freeze injunction effective immediately.”
Liam looked at the officers in absolute disbelief as one of them stepped forward to inspect the security camera footage playing live on Victoria’s tablet.
“We have clear video evidence of domestic battery and financial coercion,” the officer noted sternly, turning toward Liam with handcuffs already unclipped from his belt.
Eleanor began to shriek, clutching her designer handbag as she realized her precious son was about to be taken away in chains right in front of her.
“You ruined my son’s life!” Eleanor screamed, pointing a shaking finger at me. “You orchestrated all of this just to destroy us!”
“No, Eleanor,” I said, looking her straight in the eye as the officers cuffed Liam’s wrists behind his back. “You destroyed yourselves the moment you assumed my intelligence had a limit.”
