PART 2: THE REVELATION AT THE ALTAR
Michael Reeves did not flinch at Ethan’s arrogant interruption, slowly unsealing the heavy envelope in front of the entire congregation.
“Mr. Caldwell,” the attorney said, his voice ringing through the cathedral speakers, “your wife possessed far more than you ever realized.”
Ethan leaned back with a dismissive smirk, but the woman in the red dress suddenly sat up straight, sensing a shift in the air.
“As of thirty days before her passing,” Michael read aloud, “Emily Carter transferred all shares of the family trust, the residence, and her intellectual properties into an irrevocable safety trust.”
The lawyer looked up directly at Ethan, whose smug expression began to melt into a pale mask of shock.
“Every asset you believed you were inheriting as her surviving spouse has been placed under the sole trusteeship of her mother, effective immediately.”
