PART 3: THE SHOWDOWN AT HEADQUARTERS

Despite my broken leg, I insisted on being discharged immediately, heading straight to the executive floor of Apex Logistics in a wheelchair.

When Austin and his mother arrived at the office, expecting to find his usual compliant team, they were greeted by armed security and federal auditors.

The entire executive board was assembled in the main conference room, surrounding the massive mahogany table.

Austin marched into the room arrogantly, pushing my wheelchair in front of the board members to parade me as a distraction.

“Board members, excuse my wife’s disruptive behavior, she’s having a personal crisis,” Austin declared loudly, trying to assert control.

Jonathan, the chief legal counsel, stood up from the head of the table and walked directly past Austin.

He bowed respectfully in front of my wheelchair, presenting me with the master keys to the executive suite and the chairman’s gavel.

“Welcome, Madam Chairwoman,” Jonathan announced into the microphone, his voice echoing through the silent room.

Austin stared at me in complete horror, his jaw dropping as the truth hit him like a physical blow.
