PART 2: The Stunned Silence

PART 5: The Final Separation

“Victoria, please,” Ethan begged, stepping toward me as security guards moved in to clear the lobby crowd. “We can fix this. Fifteen years… you can’t just walk away!”

“I’m not walking away, Ethan,” I said softly, handing him the business card of the top divorce attorney in the city. “I’m moving forward.”

“By the way,” I added, turning back toward the glass doors of the tower. “I took my name off the lease for the corporate apartment, and I changed the locks on our house an hour ago.”

Three months later, the divorce was finalized smoothly, granting me full ownership of our estate and half of his executive equity. Ethan lost his promotion due to corporate ethics violations and ended up living in a rented studio across town.

I stood on my back patio, sipping hot tea in the quiet morning air, finally free from the lies—and knowing I had reclaimed my life without ever losing my dignity.
