PART 3: The Boardroom Panic
Ethan panicked, grabbing my arm to pull me away from the elevator bank, but I casually stepped out of his reach.
“Victoria, please, let’s talk about this in private,” he whispered frantically, his eyes darting toward his division VP, who was watching from across the marble floor. “You’re making a scene.”
“I’m not making a scene, Ethan,” I replied, pulling a neat manila folder from my leather handbag. “I’m simply completing your HR handover.”
I slid the folder directly into Lila’s hands before Ethan could snatch it away. Inside were printed color copies of their late-night message threads, the calendar invite, and the voice notes I had backed up the night before.
