PART 3: The Unchecked Tag
Jenna explained that she had been suspicious of Tyler’s long “work trips” for months.
“I hired a private investigator last week,” Jenna wrote. “He traced Tyler to your apartment building. Then, two days ago, one of your friends tagged a local restaurant in a public post. Tyler was sitting in the background of her photo, and you were sitting right next to him.”
The private investigator had matched the photo, located my social media profile, and realized Tyler was living a completely separate life with me during his “business trips.”
“Maya doesn’t know yet,” Jenna said. “She’s flying in tomorrow morning to surprise him for his birthday. He told her he was staying at a hotel near the airport.”
Instead of calling Tyler in a panic, a cold, quiet anger settled over me. Four years of loving a lie ended right there.
“Don’t tell Maya yet,” I messaged Jenna back. “Let her come. But don’t send her to his hotel. Send her to my apartment.”
How did the confrontation unfold? Continue reading Part 4 below for the showdown.
