Julian leaned closer, his voice laced with years of bitter resentment and calculated madness. He didn’t want money, nor did he want a political statement broadcast to the world. He demanded that I divert the aircraft toward an abandoned, unmonitored airstrip in the icy wilderness of northern Scandinavia, effectively ending my career and plunging us into total isolation.

“You sacrificed me for your precious sky,” he hissed, his thumb hovering dangerously over the watch’s silver stem. “Now you will land where I tell you, or we all burn together over the Atlantic.” I looked at his eyes, realizing he was entirely serious; his grief had twisted into a suicidal obsession.

I backed away slowly, maintaining a calm smile for the passing passengers while my mind raced through emergency procedures. Back inside the locked cockpit, I needed a plan that could disarm the device without triggering the pressure sensor.
