“You must take over my business empire starting tomorrow morning,” Kavita said calmly, looking deep into my eyes.
“My relatives are already plotting to seize everything, believing I am too frail to manage the board meetings.”
She reached out and placed her hand over mine, her skin warm yet trembling slightly under the dim light.
“They think you are just a young boy after my wealth, but I need you to show them you are the rightful leader.”
As I reached over to comfort her and touched her back, my hand brushed against a thick, raised scar along her spine.
