PART 3: THE FINAL CHOICE
The venue manager cleared his throat awkwardly, gesturing toward the hallway where security guards were already gathering.
“Mrs. Stone, destroying personal property on hotel premises is a severe violation,” the manager stated firmly, pulling out his notepad. “Shall we involve law enforcement?”
Diane sneered, raising her chin in defiance. “Do you have any idea who we are? My husband practically owns this city!”
Gabriel stepped directly between his mother and me, turning his back on Diane and Lauren completely.
“I don’t care who you think you are,” Gabriel said, his voice trembling with a mixture of deep pain and absolute resolve. “You just destroyed the most important thing my bride owned.”
He reached into his jacket pocket, pulled out the grand family heirloom ring his mother had forced onto his hand that morning, and dropped it onto the floor beside the ruined lace.
“The wedding is still happening,” Gabriel declared, taking my hand tightly in his. “But neither of you will be there to see it.”
Diane gasped, clutching her chest in horror as the venue manager escorted her and Lauren out of the suite under threat of criminal charges.
