Grant hadn’t just been cheating on me; he had been using Celeste to set up an offshore funnel to siphon my personal assets and company capital before our wedding. His plan was to drain my accounts, file for divorce post-marriage claiming financial irreconcilable differences, and leave me holding millions in institutional liability.
“He’s not just trying to steal your money, Avery,” Lucas said, turning his monitor toward me. “He’s been shorting your crisis management firm’s parent company using confidential internal data that only someone close to you could provide.”
Celeste had been copying files from my home office during her weekend visits, handing over proprietary client lists and confidential corporate strategies directly to Grant. They were attempting to collapse my firm while stealing my personal fortune, planning to flee the country the moment the ink dried on our marriage certificate.
