PART 3: THE ACCOUNTING OF DEBTS

I didn’t answer Sienna; instead, I walked straight into the grand dining room carrying Clara in my arms and set her gently down at the head of the long oak table. The room went dead silent as forty of my extended relatives froze, drinks halfway to their lips.

“Party’s over,” I said, my voice echoing off the high ceilings like thunder. “Every single person in this room who enjoyed a meal my wife cooked, or drank a bottle bought with my money, has ten minutes to leave my property.”

Outrage broke out among my aunts and cousins, but it was quickly silenced when four uniformed security guards entered through the main doors, led by Marcus himself. He held a thick binder containing financial audits and video logs documenting months of theft and emotional abuse.

Sienna rushed into the room, trying to rally the family against me. “You can’t treat us like this, Julian! We are your blood! Clara is nobody!”

That was the final line she would ever cross in my presence. I pulled out the security logs and displayed a video on the large living room screen showing Sienna handing Clara a list of chores and threatening to tell me that Clara was cheating if she didn’t comply.

The room collectively gasped as the truth of Sienna’s cruelty was laid bare for everyone to see. The very family members who had participated in the feast suddenly turned their gaze to the floor in absolute shame.
