PART 3: THE SHATTERED FACADE

The forensic accountant pulled out a thick stack of certified bank statements and handed them directly to my father.

My father’s hands shook as he scanned the paper trail, seeing Camille’s secret offshore accounts detailed in black and white ink.

“You… you blamed your sister,” my father whispered, staring at Camille as tears of deep regret filled his eyes.

“You told us Ellie was stealing from us… you made us treat her like an outcast in her own home!”

Camille looked around the ballroom, but not a single guest would meet her eyes as camera phones recorded her public downfall.

Daniel took off his wedding band, holding it in his palm for a quiet moment before dropping it onto the wooden stage floor.

“The marriage is over before it even began, Camille,” Daniel declared firmly, stepping down from the stage without looking back.

“I’m filing for an immediate annulment, and I’m testifying for the bank’s fraud investigation against you.”

My mother burst into heavy sobs, reaching out toward me in desperate apology, finally seeing the daughter who had truly protected them all along.

Police officers, tipped off by the bank’s fraud team, stepped through the grand doors of the venue and walked straight toward Camille.

Camille let out a choked cry as the officers placed her in handcuffs right in front of the two hundred guests she had tried to impress.
