PART 2: TRAPPED AT THE GATE
Arthur and Sienna stood in the middle of the international terminal, surrounded by suitcases packed with what they believed was my fortune.
Sienna flashed my diamond bracelet for another airport photo, her laughter ringing out against the polished floors of the terminal.
Arthur checked his phone continuously, his face darkening every time my name appeared on his screen with an unanswered call.
He marched toward the first-class boarding gate, presenting their passports and elite boarding passes with his usual arrogant smirk.
The gate agent scanned Arthur’s passport, but instead of a green light, a sharp red warning flashed across the computer screen.
Two federal agents in dark suits stepped out from the security corridor before Arthur could even demand an explanation.
