PART 4: The Sting
The lead officer immediately pulled out his radio, calling in a forensic unit to inspect the salon’s back premises based on Ava’s detailed description of the hidden room and the latch system.
“We’ve been investigating that boutique for three months on suspicion of fraudulent supply chains,” the officer admitted, his tone softening as he looked at my terrified daughter. “We thought we were looking for an accomplice, but Ava was actually his latest victim.”
I threw my arms around Ava, holding her tightly as she cried into my shoulder, the horror of what she had gone through alone finally pouring out.
Within two hours, law enforcement executed a search warrant on the salon, catching the owner red-handed with illegal inventory and securing the evidence needed to shut the operation down permanently.
