Part 3: The True Heiress
Jonathan took an unstable step backward, his hand clutching the edge of the floral arch as if the ground were shifting beneath his feet.
“What… what are you talking about, Emma?!” Jonathan stammered, his loud voice cracking with raw, unvarnished panic.
“These kids aren’t mine! You left five years ago with nothing! You’re just pulling a cheap stunt to ruin my high-society wedding!”
Emma let out a soft, melodious laugh that cut through the tense atmosphere like a sharp diamond slicing glass.
She calmly reached into her designer leather clutch, pulling out a sealed gold folder stamped with the official wax emblem of the State Supreme Court and Vance Wealth Management Group.
“Five years ago, you threw me out of your house in the middle of the night, calling me worthless and ordinary,” Emma stated smoothly, her eyes locked onto his terrified face.
“What you were too arrogant to realize was that my quiet father was the founder and majority shareholder of Miller & Vance Commercial Global Real Estate.”
Gasps of profound shock erupted through the crowd as several high-profile corporate partners in the front row stood up from their seats in utter bewilderment.
“My father insisted I live simply and work hard from the ground up so I would understand the true value of character over empty status,” Emma continued.
“When you abandoned me, I returned home, inherited his multi-billion-dollar commercial asset portfolio, and expanded our firm into private equity, luxury hotel developments, and offshore banking trusts.”
“I bought out your primary corporate debt lines through a secondary holding company three years ago without you ever knowing my name was behind the signatures.”
Jonathan’s face turned ghostly white as the financial implications crashed over his mind like a devastating tsunami.
Every commercial loan guarantee he had signed for his luxury car collection, his five-hectare Connecticut villa estate, and his high-ticket real estate projects was backed by Miller & Vance Global.
Vanessa’s father, the U.S. senator, suddenly stepped forward, his face flushed with intense anger as he pointed a finger at Jonathan.
“Miller, what is the meaning of this?!” Senator Collins demanded coldly. “You told my family you owned ninety percent of your commercial real estate firm!”
“He owns nothing, Senator,” Emma replied calmly, handing the open gold folder directly to the senator’s private legal counsel standing nearby.
“Jonathan’s voting shares in Miller & Vance were contingent on his marital stability under my father’s original trust agreement.”
“Furthermore, yesterday morning, the court finalized mandatory DNA compatibility reports confirming these twin children are his lawful, biological heirs.”
“Under the family trust charter, sixty percent of his corporate voting stock and his commercial credit facilities were automatically transferred into an irrevocable trust for these two children the moment they were born.”
Jonathan grabbed his head in his hands, gasping for air as his vision blurred with dizzying, uncontrollable terror.
“Emma, please!” Jonathan cried out, dropping his arrogant persona completely as he fell to one knee on the marble steps.
“We can fix this! I didn’t know you were pregnant! We can be a real family again! I’ll cancel this wedding right now!”
