• Non-Venomous and Harmless: Common house geckos are non-venomous and generally harmless to humans and domestic pets.
• Salmonella Risk: Like most wild reptiles, geckos can carry Salmonella bacteria on their skin or in their droppings; avoid handling them directly without washing your hands.
• Dropping Contamination: Gecko droppings left on countertops or walls can contaminate food preparation surfaces if not cleaned regularly.
