Part 4: How the “Towel Spin Trick” Works at Home

If you want to speed up line drying using your washing machine’s spin function, follow these steps:

• Complete the Wash Cycle: Run your normal wash and spin cycle until the machine finishes completely.
• Add a Large Dry Towel: Open the door and place one large, clean, dry bath towel on top of the damp clothes.
• Run a High-Speed Spin: Set the washer to run an additional high-speed “Spin Only” cycle for 10 to 15 minutes.
• Remove and Hang Immediately: Take the clothes out right away—the towel will have absorbed a large amount of remaining moisture, cutting air-drying time in half.
