The $100 bill hadn’t even stopped spinning on the floor… when my new husband smiled.

His family laughed, while my mother lowered her eyes, too ashamed to move.

That was the exact moment they believed they had won. They thought humiliating a poor woman would be the funniest part of the evening.

They had no idea it was the moment that destroyed them.

I slowly stood—no tears, no shouting—just one glance toward the men in dark suits standing quietly by every exit.

They straightened at the same time. My husband never noticed because he was too busy enjoying the applause.

More laughter, more cameras, and more people filming what they thought was my humiliation.

I walked onto the stage. Behind me, the giant screen still displayed our “love story.”

In my pocket… my thumb rested on a small remote. One click—that was all it would take.

The romantic slideshow would disappear, and five hundred guests would see bank records, shell companies, forged contracts, and millions of dollars that had quietly vanished.

Across the room, one of the agents touched his earpiece. Another began walking toward Preston’s table.

For the first time all night… my husband stopped smiling.
